Hopes of the 39-year-old conjuring the magic of old at this year's US Open came to an abrupt, emotional end in the early hours of Monday morning, with Argentina's Mariano Navone powering his way to a 7-6 (7-5), 5-7, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 inside the Arthur Ashe Stadium. Fans were disappointed by his exit.
