Nuclear test veterans finally given hope of compensation
Britain's nuclear testing veterans may finally receive compensation as Wes Streeting considers a proposal to help those who were exposed to atomic radiation. Under proposals shared with Defence Secretary, veterans who suffered side-effects after participating in the programme would receive £30,000 each - tens of thousands less than the £50,000 pledged by Labour in its 2019 manifesto.
